Entry: Friday, June 11th Jun 11, 2004

Well this week has been the most difficult thus far. I had some not so great news from Dad regarding Mom and it is hard to be so far away and alone while all this CRAP is going on. For those of you have not read the comments, I urge you to do so. Mom posted last and it just goes to show you what an incredible inspiration she is! With that being said.... The new school building for my classes is beautiful but not complete. It is sorta like being at the Ponderosa and trying to study. Hammering, sanding, painting, scaffolding, workmen everywhere, and things falling and a few choice cuss words. Comforting in a way since it reminds me of home! I was hoping to come home early but it looks like that is not an option at this point. It seems that a lot of poeple are leaving Ecuador right now and I could not get a flight until Thursday. Thus, I have opted to go ahead and stick with my original departure date of the 22nd, finish my classes and hope for the best. There is a chance that there will be a labor strike within the next 2 weeks. If that happens I may not be able to get out at all....so....keep you fingers crossed and pray that I will be able to get out as scheduled. I am planning on my weekend away at Banos. I figure a diversion at this point would be better than sitting at home an emotional train wreck. Please keep my family (especially mom) and me in your prayers. It is reassuring to know that I am blessed with loving and supportive family and friends. I thank God for all of you everyday! I will write again next week with details of my weekend adventure. Thank you all for your words of support! Love you all and anxious to be back home! Amy

Glad to know you are sticking it out, and I wish you luck with returning home safely. And also looking forward to seeing you if you make it out here. This is a busy busy home and the more hands the better! :)

Guten Tag!

It's 11:22pm and my Master has finally releived me of my duties and I am able to email you. Mom is doing well. She's had some 'roid rage' and in some sick and twisted way it's entertaining...only us. She's good about taking the medication to counter act it so we haven't had any problems. I can't go into details here, but when we talk I'll give you a good laugh relaying some things Sweet Dearie said. It's good to be here and as much as I miss Eric and the girls it's nice to be able to focus on Mom. The painter finished this afternoon so we've started getting their bedroom back together. It was a high priority to get Mom back into her cave so we could watch "Kill Bill" downstairs. Mom and I got to chase a live bird out of the house. It's really fun picking up after a bird that's begun nesting in some of her fake flower stuff in the living room. Many thanks to the painter for leaving the front door open. Anyhow, I'm glad you are staying in Ecuador and finishing your classes as planned. Mom is very proud of you lady. I'll get her through this project and I'm sure she'll come up with another to keep you busy when you come to visit. Hang in there. You're almost home. Love you, Meg

Hi Amy - Finish what you set out to do in Equator. Mom is so proud of you. We are too! Megan is here driving Ms. Daisy all around. It is hard to deny her a trip to every consignment shop in town given this weeks news. Good news is that with medicine we can handle the "road rage" - Megan calls it tourets. We have enjoyed cold stone ice cream with her twice this week. For goodness sake we don't want her to get osteoporosis also! Chris and Sean's baseball teams won both their league divisions and the District 30 Tournament of Champions. Closing ceremonies for baseball are Saturday and all-stars will be announced. I have not been campaigning for them to be on an all-star team - maybe/maybe not - either way we are OK. Try to relax and have fun. We are all hoping you can come out during mom's break next chemo cycle - Have a fun weekend and hang in there! Love, Kristi
